Deer

Post by ICDEDTURKES »

I rarely make venison just as steaks but had the inkling today.... Cut up into cubes.... Marinated in a mix of Soy, Dark brown sugar, ginger, garlic, oil, red pepper flakes and a splash of lemon oil for a couple hours...

Got the cast iron hot.... Shook off the excess marinade and seared hot and fast and rolled in melted butter....

Oh yeah, damn good.... The acid in the lemonade it extremely tender, oil and the soy almost acted as a brine and the flavor was really good....
Did so.e redskins in the air fryer with dried rosemary...

I love the taste of a beef or venny steak as much as the next guy... Or a good steak needs nothing but a lil GSP. But sometimes it's nice to add a lil different flavor to it....

As good as the flavor was I would have no problem throwing a beef steak whole in a bag with the marinade and slapping on the grill...

Looking delicious! I am in agreement about venison steaks. I will eat backstrap as a steak, I usually save a roast or two, but the rest of my deer is ground for sausage and the like.

I took out a venison tenderloin and I made a venison tenderloin stir fry with some onions from my garden, mushrooms, red & green peppers. I sauteed the vegetables in butter,salt/pepper,soya and a little teriyaki sauce and cubed the tenderloin and cooked in butter slowly. I then drained everything and mixed it together with some wild grain rice to enjoy, I love to cook, and I am pretty decent, I wish I could make some of the dishes op has, his look outstanding!!
