Turkey Stew

Post by redarrow »

While putting together the grub for this past deer season along with chili, spaghetti sauce, pulled pork and a few other items I figure I would make stew also.. While digging around in the freezer I came across a pack of turkey breast nuggets.Normally I would just make turkey nugget rolled in cheezits. I figured what the heck, turkey stew sounded different. Potatoes, carrots, onions, mushrooms, peas, and nuggets along with 2 pkg.of Campbells Slo Cooker beef stew sause. Salt, garlic powder to taste. 8hrs in the slo cooker and shazaam. We liked it so much I have a pot going now as I type this.

Sounds amazing, Billie! I really like turkey stew. That's what I do with the legs and thighs. It's a great way to use them. The only problem is the dark meat resembles beef. So when you eat it, your brain screws with your taste buds!
Pro tip. Adds dash or two of Worcestershire sauce to it while it simmers. Game changer.

Yup. I crock pot them until they are tender. I then use the liquid from the slow cooker for the stew.
I season them with Lowrys and throw in a sliced apple, as well.
Crazy good!
