Mossberg SA-28 Tactical Turkey

Post by stsm1009 »

One fine piece of equipment right here. Comes with a 520 turkey choke. Shot with 525 IC and the factory choke, and the factory choke was a touch better. Dug through my bag of chokes, found a 520 IC, gonna try it soon. Put on a Kingslayer green dot. It is a sharp, smooth shooting gun!

I ordered this one from Buds Gun Shop. About $775 shipped. Right at 5 lbs of smooth shooting machine! I have several loads I got to test, hopefully I will be able to do it soon.

I called Mossberg a couple days ago about this very gun, I was going to order one and I wanted to order a regular stock from Mossberg for it. The guy that I spoke to was a rude azzhole, you can’t order a regular stock for them, as a matter of fact you can’t order anything for them from Mossberg. I have a SA-28 Compact with a 24” barrel and I wanted to order this gun for my daughter. Needless to say I won’t be ordering one and don’t care to ever own another Mossberg!!!!!!!

I have a regular sa-28 with walnut stock and I wanted to order a plastic stock and forend and they told me they have no extra parts for them. That the guns come complete and it is what it is. Kinda odd but maybe parts will come available

They sell more guns by not selling upgrades. I would think the aftermarket guys would have replacement stocks and such but that often takes time to get to market.

That's the danger with the imported (mainly Turkish) firearms. The factories making them for the US importer change hands or specs periodically and spare parts are often impossible to source, or if you can find parts they are slightly different every few years. Anyone remember KBI / Charles Daly shotguns?

Your never know what might be the next big thing and worth the money, but in general with the Turkish imports you pays your money and takes your chances. Stoeger, being part of the Beretta group, seems to the the only one with consistent long term support.

Well I love this gun. I was just out pattern testing a few different loads with an IC 520. Im not breaking any records, but I’m loving what the 8.5’s are doing. Think I’m gonna stick with them.

Nothing wrong with that at all. That’s gonna wreck any gobbler at 50+ pretty easily

I recently got some of Hoobilly's loads for my Charles Daly 28 gauge. 1.5 ounces of #9s, I shot them at 35 yards and got 378 in the 10, then I wanted to try at 40, I got 340 in the 10 at 40 yards. I was shocked!!!! Mainly because I am shooting the factory full choke!!!! I am stoked!!! I sent the pictures to Brice immediately!!!!
Have a good one and May God bless, Bo
