AGE Trumpet

Post by taulbeescott539 »

I have a corian trumpet from Kenneth Mullins, a jordon style trumpet from Kenneth Mullins and a African Blackwood from Irving Whitt. I really like them all and I’ve been pondering adding one from Anthony Ellis. Have y’all used them?. Would you recommend? Any wood type in particular you’d recommend?

I had His standard size T6, in desert ironwood.
drew air very easy and had a very good turkey sound, a very easy to play trumpet, craftsmanship was top notch.

The problem with too many trumpets is which to take with you.

Everyone has a little different take on playability, ect. But he has been making fine trumpets for years. I have an older snakewood and ivory he made and its a real player. Dont think you will get a bad one from him.

Tighter internals than I care for but that is more on me than the call. Beautiful craftsmanship and will not meter and nicer guy.

I picked up a shorter T5 this past week . Can say I like it and its fast in the rollover and I do get a good whine out if it .. bought a Snakewood honey Buff horn last year at Unicoi and it is a good one also . Anth9ny builds a great looking call that sounds well even when I'm running it ....

Anthony earned his reputation and it is well deserved. No better call made or nicer guy making them.

I own and run trumpets by several makers ( soon adding another, thanks Jamey!) every maker I’ve dealt with are absolutely great guys to do business with. Everyone has been like talking to an old friend the first time you speak with them!
