This may be me thinking too much (dangerous), but could shooting large steel shot sizes in a small 28 gauge harm the barrel and forcing cone over time?
I load a 28ga steel/tss duplex for waterfowl hunting. I typically shoot a 3/9 blend for ducks. However, I shot some geese last year with a 1/7.5 blend and it patterned and performed great.
I am using the tps 28 wad and showing no sign of the wad being harmed or deteriorating.
Would the #1 steel harm my gun? Thanks!
