Poults

Post by Hobbes_mobile »

Screenshot from a video sent to me by another turkey hunter here in Montana that's also a fishing guide. It looks like two hens and more than a dozen poults looking good on the river bank. It's hard to count them in the video because it looks like they are chasing bugs on the river bank. He's from the east coast, most recently SC, so has a good appreciation of turkeys.

He gave me a general idea. He's only been here a couple of years and killed his first Merriam's last year before his fishing guiding days turned on.

I need to trade out with him. He can teach me to cast a fly rod and I'll point towards more turkeys. :) I don't get the impression that he needs any help killing them.

He's got some great fly fishing photos on Instagram at captjefflattig
