Stevens 301T 410
So I had to buy a Stevens 410 to do some testing
With the Indiancreek 390 I’ve shot the best looking pattern thus far to the tune of 173 in the 10” circle with 9.5’s 383 Stroker Guesswho let me borrow his 2 chokes.
Unfortunately the 385 isn’t threading into my gun and he mentioned it went in a little tight in his. So the tolerances aren’t that good in these 301 410’s
To get this pattern I used Pblast last for lubricant and jb non embedding bore cleaner and then cleaned out residue and followed up with cleaning throughly with denatured alcohol. Nice shine to the barrel. Back up shot was 161 dirty with no bore snake through it.

Thats a good bit better then my factory choke. Looks like I need to try that in mine. I had to really clean my barrel good out of the box to get any kind of decent pattern

I’ve seen a lot better patterns from others using the Indiancreek 390 and the 9.5’sSkimerhorn wrote: ↑July 24th, 2022, 2:39 pm Thats a good bit better then my factory choke. Looks like I need to try that in mine. I had to really clean my barrel good out of the box to get any kind of decent pattern
Indiancreek should be making more of the 385 & 390 soon. Get with me around September and I can get you one at the GN pricing

Nice pattern for a 410
Re: Stevens 301T 410
Seems like 9.5s and .390 out of these guns are the statistical ticket. I'm very close to getting 200 out of my personal loads with that setup. I want to try the new .388 and see what happens.

Should of asked me, I would've sent you one to dial in and it would only cost you a box of shells, just saying !Hoobilly wrote: ↑July 24th, 2022, 2:00 pm So I had to buy a Stevens 410 to do some testing

Re: Stevens 301T 410
If the 390 is unavailable, should I just go with the 385? I bought my wife a Stevens 301 Turkey Thumbhole for Christmas. I'm hoping to get to pattern it on the range this winter.Hoobilly wrote: ↑July 24th, 2022, 2:53 pmI’ve seen a lot better patterns from others using the Indiancreek 390 and the 9.5’sSkimerhorn wrote: ↑July 24th, 2022, 2:39 pm Thats a good bit better then my factory choke.
