No issues locally, but Redlodge and Gardiner have problems. Work is a little squirrelly considering that I work for the dept of transportation.

If you have plans to visit the Redlodge or Gardiner areas or Yellowstone soon, you better keep track of closures and repairs.

Water seems to be falling but high temps at the end of this week could cause another surge.Hoobilly wrote: ↑June 14th, 2022, 11:33 amhopefully its let up some and slow down the floodingHobbes_mobile wrote: ↑June 14th, 2022, 11:29 am No issues locally, but Redlodge and Gardiner have problems. Re: Montana Yellowstone
Sure hate to see folks in a bind like that. Yellowstone has some serious stuff going on there. Flooding can mess stuff up but it won’t much change the beauty that is Yellowstone NP. Thankfully.

Re: Montana Yellowstone
Interestingly, a local Miami retired friend and his wife were scheduled to arrive the next day in Gardiner, but the owner where they were staying told them she was out helping stranded folks in her boat.
Well their plans were changed, but the folks out there lives will be changed for the foreseeable future. Short term day to day survival, longer term no outside spending by visitors during the busy season. Guess some relief when construction crews come in?
Good luck to all!

Our Maintenance crews are working their butts off to fix and open what the can in Montana. Maintenance will be the short term fix because many of the issues will require construction for full/long-term fixes. In addition, structures require close inspection/evaluation.

That house in the video was built way too close to the rivers edge. I can’t imagine why?

I don't think it was. The river's edge moved a lot during the flood. As a side note, I think it was employee housing for the park, but I could be mistaken.

Camping in NW Montana again this weekend. We just got the trailer set up as it got dark. It's supposed to be 80s on Saturday. The river nearby is running high enough that we won't be putting kayaks in it. We are hoping one of the lakes will be okay.
