Stoeger M3020 turkey
Stoeger M3020 turkey
Been eyeing the stoeger M3020 turkey model and was wanting to hear some feedback from somebody with first hand experience. I have never owned a stoeger or a semi turkey gun for that matter. Any input regarding this turkey model is appreciated.
Re: Stoeger M3020 turkey
To my knowledge they’re a cheaper franchi/benelli. I’ve shot a 3020 for turkey and was getting over 320-10” with a .570 choke. They also shoot buckshot pretty good with a buck kicker choke

Thanks for the input fellas. I really like the weight of 5.5 lbs. I also read where the turkey model is already drilled and tapped which is a plus. I’m gonna try to get my hands on one soon to see how it fits me. How big a deal was it to have that front sight post removed?

Ive been considering the compact myself. Cut 2”-4” of barrel off would probably get it close to ultralite weight, and keep the wallet heavy.

When I’m ready to have it fully redone in Cerkote on metal and the stocks camo’d I’ll heat it up and knock it off. Or have it cut down and shortened to 18-21”
if it can be cut to 18-19” and use winchoke invector it would be sweetChief Razor wrote: ↑April 15th, 2022, 10:12 pm Ive been considering the compact myself. Cut 2”-4” of barrel off would probably get it close to ultralite weight, and keep the wallet heavy.

That’s the only thing I’m not crazy about is the 24 inch barrel. I prefer 20-22 inch barrels on my turkey guns

Re: Stoeger M3020 turkey
I have 2 one of which I had the barrel cut to around 21" and threaded for Tru-thread choke system. Wish I had asked about the Win choke system but i didn't, regardless it shoots exactly how I wanted with a Carlson .575 with the Williams ZFire Sights I am running on this gun. The other has been drilled/tapped for a FF3 base by Mr. William at Sumtoy Customs. It has a 24" and a 26" barrel and I have never shot the 26" but the 24" with IC .555 is great.

How did the overall weight come out on the gun with the 21” barrel? Any pics you would be willing to share?Casey Napier wrote: ↑April 18th, 2022, 5:21 pm I have 2 one of which I had the barrel cut to around 21" and threaded for Tru-thread choke system. I may have some on my phone. Never weighed gun but it is the lightest 20 auto I have ever held. Unsure how to post pictures but you can PM me and I can send you some.

Yes, the turkey model IS drilled & tapped. Under that mess of a peep sight there is a hole about 5/16" or 3/8" I got the EGW base and put on it, problem solved. Get this one with multiple holes model #49325. Its contoured and solid as a rock!

Also for anyone not wanting to grind off the front hideous sight on the turkey model, midwestgunworks.com HAD at one time an accessory barrel 24" long with a rib. I got one and put the other barrel in the closet.https://www.midwestgunworks.com/ssearch ... arch=33838
