Hoosier buck

Post by Hoobilly »

Nephew killed a stud 8 this afternoon

He previously made a bad shot on a 140-150” by dropping his arm down and shot it high in the back. I told him exactly what he did wrong on the shot. Bend at the hips and never drop your bow arm on a deer under you. Lesson learned and he verified it by doing some research. The buck he shot wasn’t hurt bad. Meat shot in shoulder.

Fast forward and he did the right calculations and smashed this one. Nice comeback. Body was heavy on this joker and I guess it’s over 200 field dressed. He ate good. I’m thinking 127-132”. Not a bad bow buck at all.

Snapped a picture of us dragging it out. Funny thing is as I took this photo the strap broke and my son flipped and hit the ground. You can see his legs in the air as he hit the ground 😂

Nice buck, that's hard work right there dragging them out. That's why I hunt from the truck and then run them down if I miss, no dragging that way!
