Re: SA-28 .515 Trulock 8.5x10
Heck of a core. Still some good wiggle room at 20”.
Re: SA-28 .515 Trulock 8.5x10
It does shoot a hot core. This gun is costing me. To much playtime.

Re: SA-28 .515 Trulock 8.5x10
If you enjoy playing w/ TSS loads, you should really consider building a shot trap. With the current cost of TSS, and the potential for it to get more expensive, the initial cost of the trap isn't hard to justify.

Your exactly correct. What would be nice is to have something to separate this shot from duplex loads fired. Do you have any ideas on separating shot?

Re: SA-28 .515 Trulock 8.5x10
Oh! I've got it! I've got a couple of food grade dredges w/ numerous lids drilled out to separate the various sizes of shot based upon the shot size. Cheap and easy way, and I'm able to separate 8's 8.5's. 9's and 9.5's. Some of the crowd are playing w/ 10's in their .410, so I've got to modify another lid for them, and we're getting ready to load 28 gauge 7's for waterfowl I have a full set of all the numbered drill bits, and it's just a matter of looking up the shot diameters and drilling out the lids correspondingly.
Re: SA-28 .515 Trulock 8.5x10
That’s awesome. I don’t know if I can even use a set of calipers or mic to measure. Do you use letter or number drills to match size? Or just get close?decoykrvr wrote: ↑June 3rd, 2023, 8:36 pm Oh! I’m wondering if I’m the first to shoot the .505 kicks. Haven’t seen nobody post anything.

Re: SA-28 .515 Trulock 8.5x10
I even took it to work and put the mic to it cause everyone else is shooting .520 or so. It’s .505.
I might shoot it tomar sometime. Hopefully.

Re: SA-28 .515 Trulock 8.5x10
Please let me know. I measured the trulock and it’s dead on .515 I was surprised with the accuracy of machining.

I've got all the data, ie. shot diameters, bit sizes, source for the dredges and lids etc., which I'll post for the faithful when I dig it all out.
Re: SA-28 .515 Trulock 8.5x10
I guess I need a red dot ( never shot one) but POA and POI ain’t same. Not far off but needs a little tweaking.
I had to aim bout 2 “ over the turk in target (buried the front green sight in the ghost ring that came with it) to achieve this. But that’s fine. We will see what a reddot does.

Here’s the factory .521 choke that came with it. Same ammo same yardage.

That’s a real good pattern at 44 yards. Nice and even.OLE RASPY wrote: ↑June 4th, 2023, 5:58 pm 898B1493-DEFB-4A47-B515-60CF22982F23.jpeg
44 yards. (That’s just what it was). Foxtrot trot 9 shot. .505 kicks choke.

Did your gun get over the hiccups, Raspy?
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?
