You can't go wrong with a bunch of crappies!
My wife's favorite!
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

Livin here in the South I can’t be objective about what’s actually the best. But I do like the panfish. My nod at this time is crappie. Now, I will say this: catfish from a clear lake are fine; but here’s the catch; you gotta eatem under about 14-15 inches. I mean almost too small to filet. That’s when they are best. If the filet is too big/thick it just won’t cook or be consistent through. Helps to cut em up….
Would be happy to get up a road trip to try everyone’s fave and I make a solemn promise to be fair and objective in my ranking.

I prefer fresh walleye just legal slot size and Perch, after being away and guiding in the North for years, I have had my fill of walleye shore lunches and Northern boil, as for panfish, I love eating them as well but the time spent cleaning them does not put them higher up on my list.

I'm with ya! I prefer the perch over the walleye. But gladly eat both and often!
