Switching next year

Post by OLE RASPY »

To a 20 gauge. I bought my wife a 20 this past winter. Tristar raptor. I really like it but it’s hers and evidently she’s a one and done. Lolol.

So since last year I’ve been kicking the idea of switching to a 20 gauge myself.
I love my 935 mossberg it’s killed several
But I’m keeping it and gonna hunt with a 20.

EYEBALLING the retay in bottomland camo awful hard.
Anybody shoot this gun. Pros and cons. Please.

I've got one, Raspy but haven't run any Foxtrot through it. Been busy with my Mom so I didn't get to hunt this year.
Brice has one and loves it. He talked me into one!
Mine is Bottomland.

I have one. Great gun

But if your buying a dedicated turkey gun consider the Mossberg SA20 turkey tactical

And also the Franchi turkey elite 20.

The Franchi shoots stupid patterns. For that matter so does the SA20 & the Retay turkey with 22” barrel
Don't start none, won't be none!

Just pick you out a 20 that feels the best to you and fits what ya want to spend. I have shot M2, SA20, SX3, SX4, Browning Gold, Rem 870, Tristar, and Franchi Affinity. If you are shooting the good stuff it ain't gonna matter, they all shoot crazy patterns.

Got the retay ordered. Update soon as I get it. Best deal I found as far as money I found and I called uncle lees and whittakers.
Guess it helps having a coworker as a gun dealer.

Retay had a really nice set up at NWTF if I recall correctly but just too jammed with folks for me to look at them.

The Retay is a Benelli knockoff with a few significant changes. I like mine.

Well I thought he ordered it and said he was but this morning when he came in to work he said he sent me the wrong price. $200 more that what he said so I told him to hold off. He priced the gordian to me.
Anyway I’ll figure something out. Got plenty of time.

You won't be disappointed with the 28ga. I don't feel a 20ga turkey gun has any advantages over a 28ga other than turkey ammo availability. But if you roll your own or order from Hoobilly its a toss up
