It got cold, again !

Friday and Saturday we had record cold and winds. Unfortunately it was fatal. Two different massive white pines came down on cars killing 2 and critically injured 3. Saturday morning I had the most unusual thing at the house. Only the middle hinge on my front door had this, any explanations ?

Ouch, if it's yer' main entrance door, better git's an outer summer screen and winter door on also, and stop the cold wind from breezin' thru the door cracks and makin' yer' door hinges frost up

Wow. Your sure losing some heat there. Here in Mi. it was 4 above and 10 below wind chill on Friday. The next 12 days are 35 - 47 .

It looks like 40 here all week. We had a really cold December and a few cold days in January but it's been a relatively mild winter. We still have plenty of time for it to get nasty, so I try not to get used to it.

So they just announced a new coldest ever recorded wind chill in history on American soil on top of Mt. Washington in New Hampshire. The new record is -108.4° below 0. Remember it's not the Heat, it's the Humidity !!!
I think it was just so cold that it just "conducted" thru the hinge. Only thar hinge though, nothing else.
