Benelli M2

Post by TNHunter61 »

Can the M2 be drilled and taped for a scope? Or is it to thin for screws to hold. My old eyes like scopes the red dots blur to me!Thanks

I think it can be done, I would make sure that the base had 4 mounting screws though.

I will add that once the M1 or M2 is tapped you need to dedicate it to that setup and not be removing the optic to shoot doves or the such . What will happen over time is the screwholes will strip due to being aluminum and only holding 3 to a max 4 threads .
If this is your intent buy a more suitable platform to dedicate to a turkey gun .

This, it’s better than tapping the receiver. The field of view will be much larger

I have one of these and one receiver tapped, the meadow mount is much better to hunt with

The speed bead is great if you can get it to hold zero.

I ended up mounting mine using GEII under the mount where it sits on the receiver and it now does not move. The GE II holds like glue but yet is easy to remove if needed without and damage to the firearm.

For my understanding……how can the field of view through a sight be larger when it is mounted further away from the eye?

Your peripheral view is greater because the sight is not close to your eye.
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

This, it’s not what you are seeing through the lenses, it’s what you can overall physically see

When the sight is on the receiver close to your eye and you trying to scan for an approaching bird you will find yourself looking over the top of the sight a lot for a better view
