Ceramic Surface
I recently bought my first ceramic surface pot call, it seems like I have trouble getting the striker to grip/get friction during a calling sequence. Any tips?

Green scrubby back and forth don't over condition... Make sure striker tip clean

I have a Houndstooth ceramic that really sings! I agree with Icedturkeys but one other thing I do is rub the conditioned area with box call chalk.

I’ve found the carbon strikers can be a real treat to get traction with on ceramic. For weather, I’ve been using plexi glass strikers. Under normal conditions a new favorite has been chestnut.

I have a Hank’s ceramic pot call and it came with a piece of 40 grit sand paper. Have to go easy. Once you condition it it tends to last a good while. Lightly touch up your striker with scotch bright.

Never had or tried a ceramic but, thought about making one.

Re: Ceramic Surface
I clean coated aluminum and ceramic with alcohol prep pads . Like used for getting a shot at dr office .
Dry wall sanding sponges work well as striker cleaners . If I'm hunting and don't have a day walk sponge I use my pocket knife to scrape the striker .
Both surfaces are hard and cause the striker surface to get slick very quickly.

I use a conditioning stone on my Halloran ceramic call, maroon scotch brute pad on the striker.

Yep, gotta keep that stiker super clean. Something about ceramic builds up pretty quickly on the stiker. Condition with sandpaper and scotch brite the striker end often
