Retay red dot mount.

Post by HoltBensley »

I recently had a buddy buy a retay 20ga and he wants to run a red dot. (Trijicon RmR) he cannot find a mount that will bolt to the receiver and fit the red dot at the same time. He also doesn’t want to run the rail that comes with the gun. What are his options at this point?

Did you check with Sumtoy? I have a couple if his mounts using the Burris/Vortex footprint, but I can’t remember if he makes them for the RMR style.

Have you looked at these?:

Pretty sure I saw a post where William @ Sumtoy Customs said they had mounts available for the Retays.

William told my buddy something along the lines that with him using the sumtoy rmr mount my buddy would have to drill&tap another hole in the receiver

"We have the Retay mounts cut. We got to coat them when the rain lets up. We hope today or tomorrow. They should fit the factory holes drilled in the gun."

That's the direct quote from William on a different forum on 3/5. He posted again yesterday saying he'd be shipping everything UPS from now on. Might want to check with him again.

Ok, I didn't realize the RMR didn't fit the standard footprint. My apologies.

Drilling/tapping another hole seems like a really simple fix to this dilemma.

If you have to drill & tap another hole then so be it, but use this mount.

Lol...never heard of Retay. I'm not all that surprised. Until last year Mike @ Indian Creek hadn't either until I suggested he "might" wanna look into them as they are an up & coming company with great potential.

This is exactly what I would do if I wasn’t using a EGW base on a shotgun that wasn’t drilled and tapped

This is the best thing to come along for turkey guns in a while

Nice thing is for the cost of drilling and tapping you get a vent rib mount. Want to sell the gun you easily remove the mount and keep it for the next gun.

Want to wing shoot it????? Take it duck or dove hunting and that red dot makes it so easy it should be outlawed

I recently purchased a New Gordian Turkey 24, 12 gauge and they no longer drill and tap receiver!????. And retay is sold out of the picatinny replacement rail not sure they will get anymore. Anyone want to sell the factory rail with the screws??? Or does anyone know where I could get a factory one? I'm going to have the receiver drilled and tapped . The new clamp on style rail that comes with the new Gordian is a Joke.
