Would love to see some pattern pictures out of a Winchester SX4 20.

SX4 20 gauge pattern pics
Re: SX4 20 gauge pattern pics
Bringing this back up, I have one also and got less than stellar results, would love to know what chokes are working best with these backbored barrels.
Re: SX4 20 gauge pattern pics
.585 Carlson's worked great with 1 5/8oz tss handloads in my SX3 which has the same invector plus barrel. Which load you are shooting?
Re: SX4 20 gauge pattern pics
Carlson's .580 w/ 1/5/8 oz TSS. The .570 was a little too tight and lacked the even distribution in the 20" which I prefer. The .580 in my back-bored barrel produces a killing pattern to 60+ yards.

I’ve not shot one yet. But I would imagine a 562 or 570 Indiancreek is gonna be what your looking for

Same results I get with that combo and my sx4el diablo wrote:.585 Carlson's worked great with 1 5/8oz tss handloads in my SX3 which has the same invector plus barrel. Which load you are shooting?

I run Carlson 585 also also in my x3 20
Re: SX4 20 gauge pattern pics
I evaluated the Jeb's .565 and Primos Jelly Head .570 Invector + choke tunes in my back-bored Winchester Long Beard before settling on the Carlson's .580. I pattern chokes from 25-60 yards and, historically, most of my kills are @ <40 yards. The 15/8 oz. load of TSS which I hunt w/ produced basketball sized dense patterns w/ the tighter chokes at 40 yards, but there was little room for error or gobbler head movement on potentially closer shots. As I stated earlier, I like a nice evenly distributed 20" around a 300 pellet 10", which gives me close and distance gobbler killing coverage. If your interested in the tighter Invector + choke tubes PM me cause they are for sale.
