Coyote Down.

Post by Hognutz »

I shot this Coyote on Friday morning. They cut the hay in the field behind my house and this always brings em out. I found this destroyed nest while looking for her. Don't know if the tractor got it or the critters. One less baby making turkey killer.

May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

I was making coffee at 6:45 on Friday morning. Saw her out poking around. Got my .22-250 T/C and shot her outta my garage service door.
100'ish. I don't actively hunt them. I just shoot them when they show up.
When they cut the hay, the gun comes outta the safe! It's just a matter of time before one shows up!

Can't beat that.. Target of opportunity.. That's one thing I regret in KS never having the 243.. Going about your business you could have shot 1-2 a day from truck, they were stupid, hit the brakes stop and stare at ya from 100-200 yards.

Every night across the road I head them between 1:30-2.. I take cougar swimming there and almost everyday there are tracks on the two track and they cross the bridge.. They took the hay down Friday, but I think they bailed it Sunday..

I used to hunt them a quite a bit years ago, this one's really tugging at me, with the river be so easy to play the wind and threat of bumping moving in is non existent..

I always said you give me a guy that can consistently call and kill coyotes east of the Mississippi, you will have a ready made turkey killer..

That's a great analogy! Totally agree.
