I think we have a deer season specifically for those in Mississippi, we have a season for everything else!

I've been wanting to build a cannon for years. Ever since I seen one on Michigan Outdoors with Fred Trost. It was pretty slick .The guy used a car scissor jack for elevation and It fired a gold ball sized lead ball.
Put you plans in the nail scarred hands.

Looks like a lot of fun!
Re: I'm buying a CANNON!!!!!!
Years ago at a muzzleloader campout I got to shoot a canon at a target about 175yards out on a lake. It shot old spark plugs and they were fast and accurate.
a lot of fun and probably the best part of the weekend

Re: I'm buying a CANNON!!!!!!
While in college I had a cannon which shot an orange juice can sized projectile. We'd usually pour concrete around a steel centered billet, jacket the projectile w/a piece of greased sheet cloth and fire w/ home-made black powder and cannon fuse. The fact that we didn't blow up my parents house w/ our black powder production in the basement or when shooting the cannon is testament to the old adage that "God looks after drunkards, fools, and buffoons." We were pretty accurate out to about 150 yards, but kept trying to up our range w/ increased powder charges which finally ruptured the barrel and probably saved our lives w/ the cessation of powder production and cannonry.

My brother lives near a guy that’s a retired firefighter. He fires a cannon shot at noon every day. It’s an interesting neighborhood.
