I’ve killed 3 as well. All 3 from the same general area. Also killed several single spurred birds.

All mine also in the same general area. Like you, I also have killed several single spurred turkeys as well. For some reason I always feel robbed.

Have killed one with no spurs. Very next bird on that farm had double spurs. 1.5" and .5" on each leg.

Here are two brothers me and the wife called in big hardwoods. One had inch spurs, the other just scales. Smooth as a babies butt.

1.5 for me. Killed a Merriams with slick legs, and killed this bird in AL last year. Other leg had no sign of a spur at all.

Nope never have out of 80 but a buddy of mine did in Michigan, maybe there he/she birds like the PA home health secretary.
Re: How many?
One. Full fan, 10" beard and gobbled all the way in. Not a spur to be seen. Gil
Re: How many?
On our hunt in SD we killed @ 6 without a single spur and another 6 or so without beards . a couple more only had one spur . all were within 60,000 acres. Sobi would lean heavy towards genetics on the spurs and iceballs pulling out the beards .

One I can remember. Gobbled all morning. Kept moving in til I could hear drumming. Called, answered, came, died. Big as a Volkswagen. 23lbs, late season paintbrush beard. I pulled back a wing ready to see real hooks- nada, none, ol slick legs!

Re: How many?
I've killed three without spurs.! One of the best hunts I ever had was with a wily old gobbler I battled with making several moves and finally got the right set up and killed him ! As I walked up to him I thought this old guy has to have long sharp spurs boy was disappointed when I rolled him over and he had none lol

Re: How many?
You guys are getting too ripped on the spur and beard thing. I would be mad if I killed a turkey that only had 1 breast!!! It is all about eating them in my book.

Re: How many?

Re: How many?
I’ve killed two both in La and both had long beards. I’m more into the long spurs and I felt robbed as well, first thing I do is reach for the legs to check out the spurs. Hopefully if it’s genetic they were killed before they passed it on to too many hens.

Re: How many?
We have taken at least 3 with no spurs here in South Florida and at least one with a single spur. All from the same general area. Tried to take as many as possible out of the gene pool! Beards were all reasonably long.
It's like, what we call, pickle fork bucks. Had several pop up on our farm in Oklahoma. Took our several of them for meat then racks seemed fairly well developed some time later the bucks observed. Happens with humans as well. Some are just naturally more handsome and/or gifted. Others not so much!

Killed one this year in central Alabama. He had the whole bottom shut down from gobbling. I sat down on him at 6:30AM and shot him at 9:30 AM. I thought he must have some weapons for spurs until I walked up to him. Both legs slick. 19lbs. 10 3/4” beard.
