My Tri Star 410
Picked up a Tri Star G2 410 up around Christmas..First thing was to have it bathed, order sights and a IC choke, and shells...Just seems more logical to buy 410 then reload for myself...Plus I honestly didn’t know how this would go..the 410 thing.
Didn’t have much to go on as far as info on what choke to try,so I ended up with a 380..was told to try a 385 but I like it tight like everyone.
Got the gun back yesterday and put together and shot some shells today..The shells I tried are the following..I wanted to hold out for the “new” apex loads but turkey season is coming soon and waiting is not something I like doing as days tick down....A error on my part that I never caught until I done wrote the numbers down on the foxtrot target was I found 2 more holes in the 10 ring,so the target says 210 but it is really 212
Also want to note that the barrel was scrubbed clean and swabbed before and then again between the two shells/shots
Foxtrot ...9.5s with a payload of 7/8..”383 stroker”
212 in 10 inches
141 outside the 10 inches
Federal...9s with a payload of 13/16
141 in 10 inches
124 outside the 10 inches
So I will be shooting foxtrot ammo and the IC 380 out of my tristar..Here is pics hope this helps someone looking at the 410s

Nice, nice, nice. Congrats on the excellent project. That is an awesome hunting pattern.
Makes me wonder why I'm still carrying around my "old heavy" 20 gauge, lol!

Nice patterns and gun. That’s the best pattern I’ve seen from a 410.
Just curious if anybody has tried a 9x10 duplex load out of 410?

Straight 9.5s have proven to give the tightest patterns. 9.5 x 10 give a more even patternBeardBuster wrote: ↑January 25th, 2020, 7:26 pm Nice patterns and gun. That’s the best pattern I’ve seen from a 410.

Re: My Tri Star 410
I have 2 other 410 loads that Ive not placed for sale on the website.
The 355 Rocket I personally used on geese this season. Was shocked how well 9’s and even the 9.5’s did on flying geese

Best pattern that I have seen out of a 410! That’s a awesome dip job also. I’ve heard that Tad does excellent work.

Re: My Tri Star 410
Working on getting gun lined in now and what kind of sights/bead...Ended up running out of elevation for the tru glo pros sights..So I’m shooting bead only..Shot 20 times trying to get the gobbler dots to work, changing shims in the stock etc..No luck so the bead will have to work.
After all that I took the barrel off scrubbed it down and swapped it clean and shot one target at 25 yards.

Smoking pattern!
Re: My Tri Star 410
Nice pattern and sweet gun. Foxtrot ammo and IC smokin!
Good to see a 25 yard pattern. Guys wonder why they miss close shots with tss, not much wiggle room close.

Good looking gun there Jason! Wish you good luck and safe season!
Re: My Tri Star 410
Looking good. I just shot my Tristar 410 today with factory choke and federal tss 9s. Did pretty good. Will be a whole lot better with Sumtoy and hand loads

Re: My Tri Star 410
I installed the Mcarbo spring that is listed for the mossberg sa 20..super super easy to do..Have not shot the gun but it did seem to help some.
I never really had a problem with trigger pull weight on the gun but I figured for $12 why not.
Also looking ahead it appears to me that a mossberg charging handle MIGHT fit..so I’m thinking of giving it a try..My over sized charging handle on the m2 has really spoiled me.

Re: My Tri Star 410
So are you saying the Mcarbo trigger spring for a mossberg sa 20 fits a Tristar G2 410? That’s good to know if true.WV Ridge Reaper wrote:I installed the Mcarbo spring that is listed for the mossberg sa 20..super super easy to do..Have not shot the gun but it did seem to help some.

My Tri Star 410
So I have been getting some PMs and figured I’d give a up date on things.
I ordered some more of that fine Foxtrot ammo..But to my disappointment I didn’t get a shirt hat nor a decal [emoji23]
Anyway shot a 2 times at 30 or 35 yards and learned real quick that the dot was not gonna do..some may have hunted with it but I was hitting low and left a few inches.
I started PMs with a fine fellar from another form about mounting a red dot on the g2 410..He had a extra mount and sent it my way..A few days went by and I found another mount I wanted to try.
Couple more days things show up and I picked up a brand new FF3..keep in mind I was against having to run a red dot.So I got it mounted and started getting it lined...I am very very happy with the red dot and wish I would have gave these things another chance a long time ago.I don’t have the “final”patteren pics just a few I took along the way I will post up..The 50 yard pic I was still working on getting the patteren where I wanted it and totally forgot to adjust the sight prior to the 50.
I have looked into added the larger bolt handle but I just haven’t got one to try..Also if anyone has a youth stock for this gun and wants a adult one I will be happy to trade you out.
Also ordered a comb riser from godagrip..Haven’t got it on yet but I will post up when I do.
