Fall Youth Turkey Success

Post by toasty » November 8th, 2019, 12:42 pm

My youngest boys and both took their best turkeys this fall. They both took hunters safety last summer so they could buy a fall turkey tags this year. These little guys showed amazing patience passing on many hens and jakes to finally get shots at a couple good toms. It took several trips, but we finally caught them at the right place at the right time and these boys shot great. I know the pics are not great, but we were loosing light fast. 9in beard and 7/8" spurs for the one on the right and 6in bear 3/4 spurs for the one on the left which weighed a little over 20lbs which is huge for a utah turkey. Smiles all around that night. My younger son could only go about 10 yards before needing to rest with his turkey.

Those boys are awfully young to catch the disease, but by passing on hens and jakes, it indicates that they've got it. Great job!!! I hope they continue, and w/ your proper mentoring and guidance will develope into the type of men which this country needs.
