Hobbes when you whitened your deer skulls last year with the cream peroxide, how long did you leave it on them. I am wanting to try it. My way is way to tedious. I have one I just dug up and is ready to whiten. It really yellowed.
Or anyone else who uses this method for that matter. I just remembered Hobbes posting pictures of his.

Re: Hobbes
I left it overnight after brushing it on. I wrapped the skull in Saran wrap. I applied a second coat on one of them especially in areas that needed it.jsh909 wrote: ↑May 22nd, 2021, 7:08 am Hobbes when you whitened your deer skulls last year with the cream peroxide, how long did you leave it on them. Re: Hobbes
You'll also want to wash the peroxide off under the tap when you are done. It's a lot more concentrated than the stuff you buy at Walmart so you'll want to wear some gloves and eye protection.
Is that just the lighting or is the skull really that yellow?

Thanks Hobbes!
No it is just that yellow. When I have buried them as opposed to boiling them, they always come out of the ground extremely yellow

I've not dealt with them after buried. If that's grease that's penetrated the bone, you may have some trouble turning it white.
Re: Hobbes
I haven't had much issues whitening them, but am looking for a better way to do it. So I wanted to give your way a shot. If not I will just go back to paint brush and hydrogen peroxide treatments

This is after one week in the drying shed.
