Was fortunate to be offered this Sinker Cypress by a gentleman recently. Mr. Mark pulled the tree from an old rice field in Georgetown. He said it had at least 500 rings in it. I looked hard at this call and others he had in the wood at Unicoi a couple years ago, but had already spent my allotment. It is a mellower sound that my others.

The history of the wood is enough on its own to make it desirable. Gil
Re: Prudhomme Sinker Cypress
The history of the wood is why I purchased it from the gentleman. It is a great sounding call but I prefer denser woods normally, but since I am from SC and it has history here I wanted to get it. Plus it adds a different tone then others I have, win/win.

A friend who lives on property that was granted by the Crown to an ancestor when Georgia was settled did repairs on outbuildings that were over 200 years old. The family has lived on the property continuously since 1733 He gave me some discarded heart pine from what was once part of a turkey pen. I sent it to SS Custom Calls to make scratch boxes from the wood in his "bird house" style. He used the wood on the bases and wrote the source on the bottom of the call. My friend was ecstatic when I gave him one. Gil
