All American summer supper, besides the margarita lol

Brats got good color? Local place?

Broccoli slaw outside eggroll in a bowl I rarely buy regular slaw.. I swear it's designed so that the moment you bag it and exit the door it goes bad.

The brats are from Nueske's in Wittenberg, Wi. 50 mikes west of Green Bay. Outstanding pork everything! Best bacon on the planet. We make a couple of runs a year. Google them.

Looks like a great store that triple thick bacon make a helluva BLT.. There smoked chops look really good too.. That's one of my favorites, we have a store similar, that's become a destination for travelers that's similar, huge smoke house, grocery, big hardware and sporting goods. They win best bacon in the state every year.. I've eaten smoked chops out and bought everywhere I find them and there's are on another level, those look similar..

One thing I didn't see is cottage or buckboard bacon, I love it they have good but I've cured and smoked my own.. It comes from the butt, you talk about a BLT..

I bet that's a good BLT! We're actually having them on Monday. We have three tomato plants and our first tomato is ripe!! Finally!
This place has a rather large production facility but the retail shop is tiny!! You get more than 20 people in there and you're rubbing elbows.
The brats were crazy good. Slight to medium taste of bacon and cheddar. About a 4 on the jalapeño heat. Could be hotter for me but just right for the wife. Cooked them indirect on low (300) for 40 minutes or so. Skin was firm but easy to bite through.

It's hard to eat a store mater after fresh garden, if you notice in my cooking I don't use them alot..

Yeah our place has gone alot of production, deliver all over the state.. Personally it shows.. I'm on a local backyard cooking group on Facebook where the entire family are members, it actually got brought up about the change.. I'm sitting back :happy1: :happy1:
We have a smaller butcher shop a girl I dated from first grade off and on through my sophomore year owns it, family business.. They're beef is really good, whenever need a special cut call her and I'll have it Wednesday..

They're kill floor is insanely busy for a small operation because of the pride they put into their work.. They're smoke shop is pretty good, is rather go there than the other place..

It's so nice to be small town and have that kind of relationship with the retailers. We have that here, as well. From the stores to the restaurants. They know you and will bend over backwards to accommodate you. Priceless!!
BTW. I can't wait to tear into that tomato! 😂
