Gobbler Nation grub !

Post by spider316 »

So today between WhoBilly looking for Ivermectin and the rain. I decided to try some recipes. Well got me some government discount Salmon and Portabella mushrooms complete with the toppings. Rounded it out with steamed zucchini, yellow squash, splashed with butter and hot sauce, some fresh tomatoes with ground salt and pepper. The Hobbes Portabella mushrooms were absolutely incredible, plain and simple. The only problem was I used wild Turkey sausage and it was dry, saved by the moistness of the mushroom. Everyone, it ain't much but it what we enjoy !

Looks real good. Do you make your own wild Turkey sausage? If so. let me give you some advice. Add 2 lbs of 95% trimmed pork
for every 8 lbs of turkey. It makes the sausage a lot more moist & doesn't mask the flavor. I do the same with venison.

George, normally we use the sausage in meals with a sauce or gravy. But these mushrooms were over the top. Definitely gonna make a change in the sausage for the mushroom recipe !

Looks good 👍👍👍. I think I'll probably do the portabella thing again this week.

I don't eat a lot of salmon. My wife likes it a lot more than I do. I do like salmon patties though.
