Venison Beggars pie

Post by spider316 »

So we did a great Venison beggars pie tonight. Sorry about the sour cream you kids, but, did a chilli powder, jalapeno, bacon bit fixins. Simple recipe, venison burger, creamed corn mixed with green beans over the burger and topped with smashed taters. Added Mexican cheese at the last minute to melt it.

Hold that sour white stuff and I'm all in.
It does look delicious!
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

That's a good combo of ingredients.. Like a pot pie is that a common name or a family name for it

Ok, so if anyone has heard of Sheppards pie you might know it as that. The Sheppards of the sheep/lambs enjoyed the ground lamb prepared with potatoes and vegetables basically in a casserole. The beggars were fed the ground meat of what was calves and cows and that where " beggars pie" started. So, brown the Burger of your choice, smash some Taters and season to your liking, I run a cream corn and whatever vegetable the kids want. Put a layer of burger, cover it with the corn/vegetable mixture, top it with the Taters, and seasonings for approximately 30 minutes at 300°. Finish it with cheese and sauces of your liking, enjoy !
