Fish Fry.

Post by Hognutz »

Here's a few pics from a fish fry on our annual fishing trip. This was bluegill and walleye.

Mr. Hog, what would that trip cost me ? I'll either bring the TarTar sauce or make one of your choice. Gots me my own fillet knife and stone to sharpen. Literally a bucket list trip, with the pics provided. Please enjoy and keep em coming ! :old_glory:

This was my 36th year. We don't always kill 'em.
This year was just so so. Always great fun.
By the end of the week, you do fillet a few fish. We use the electric variety. Sooo much easier!

Best post yet.. Whole thing experience, the camp and undoubtedly the food..

That right there is how you batter fish.. No big bubbles thick batter the batter compliments the fish and not the other way around. The bar I used to frequent had a Wednesday night 7.99 blue Gill dinner same looking batter..

I'm with Ronnie I'd go for the comraderie obviously ya don't need a cook, awesome

Thank you, Gentlemen! We do have fun and we eat well.
This is our go to breading. Pat the fillet dry and shake in a gallon ZipLoc. No egg wash.

Hmmm. You have my attention, perfect for the electric Cyclonic air driven french fry maker.. Looks pretty basic a guy could jazz that up with a shake a this or that

For sure. McCormick makes many other fish breading flavors but Fish Fry is my/our favorite. It is crazy good breading.

Can't agree with you more, Gil. Perch and gills are my favorite.

Dang that looks good. It's been a while since I've been in on a real fish fry. I fried a few of these rainbows for my buddy from KY last month, but that's not even close. We've got walleye and perch here but I'm not set up to fish for them.
