Brats

Post by ICDEDTURKES »

First Grilled Brats of the year.. I bought Bells Oberon flavored brats.

First my typical sauteed peppers, onions and Jalepeno either a dash of Frank's..

I fear no jalapeno till this one, not eating, prepping it.. I never wear gloves oer even bother wash hands after cutting and removing seeds and ribs.. This one I shoulda. I must have touched my face, while grilling it burned so bad and my eyes watered so bad I went in splashed cold water three times . It was not just there, between my fingers too.

This was new to me.. I can't say I've ever had kraut on a brat. Had half a bag love kraut, love brats should work..

I mixed some kraut with I'd say a tsp brown sugar, tsp ground mustard, some crushed black pepper, diced mushrooms and a splash of Worcesteshire.. Stirred, through in frying pan . In a different pan I was whipping up caramelized onions.

Simmered the brats than off to grill toast the bun build your brat top with spicy brown..

My old stand bye above has some competition.. This was pretty dang good..

Haha, always respect the hots. Remember getting sprayed with OC at the Academy. Decontaminated and went home. All the spray washed out of my hair and ran into my eyes when I showered, fell through the shower doors when I got dizzy. Still have flashbacks just processing Vidalia onions at the sink !
I'm all in on those plates BTW.

Nicely done. Sauerkraut and brats IS the ticket. Love it. Looks outstanding!!!
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

We do brats once a week or so. Sometimes Italians for a change. Usually do a burger with them and have one of each. Super good, quick and easy. I do sauerkraut but the wife, not so much.
