Cuban Classic

Post by aristico »

This is the traditional Cuban sunday dinner with a little twist...

Chicken and rice with some spanish sausage added with the traditional side dish of fried sweet plantains....

Now that’s what I’m talking about!!!!

Now I need to fry some plantains! It’s been a couple years and now I’m missing it!

There's at least a couple of ingredients in there that I've never had nor heard of, for that matter!
But it definitely looks good and I certainly would give it a go!
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

That's 1 thing I miss about living in FL, the authentic Cuban Food. I took classes at HCC
at the Ybor campus & spent a lot of time at Rough Riders. The food court in the mall
by Tampa Stadium had a real Cuban restaurant. I love pico de galo, ropa vieja, chicken
with black beans, yellow rice, & onions, picadillo, huevos rancheros, & just about anything
else Cuban including a good Cuban Sandwich.

I kinda figured that.. I've vacationed in Fl. but never hunted and have never eaten Cuban.
I do enjoy a Cuban cigar every now and again!

I looked up the menu for the brewery where we ate and it looks like it did include salami and mayo. It was good either way but maybe the beer helped.

I believe that I could eat that! As long as that's not Swiss oozing out of there!

 No Swiss for me. I can honestly say I've never eaten Havarti but I'll do Provolone all day long.
On a Reuben sammich I like Provolone or Mozzarella.
I'm not much of a cheesehead for being from Wi.
Your Cuban looks awesomeness!!
