For Hognutz

Post by ICDEDTURKES »

Made a roast a while back. Hog asked if I've tried a Mississippi Roast, said I had to. About that time all the recipe things on FB I follow started showing it. So I got one and the four Ingredients.

So after going to bed at 4 I got up at 7 got it in slow cooker. Now I peeked about noon and this thing looked freiken awful, weird color. So now I'm like crap. So at 4 I pulled it out. Meanwhile I threw my Bacon Wrapped Asparagus in to roast. I got my Bacon Fried Corn going. Shredded a hunk off and ladled juice over and added my sides.

Mike is right the juice in this is delicious. It seems like a basic seasoning, but really it's complex when you look what's in the two packets. This difference between this and a regular pot roast is evident, personally like this better or it makes a great change up.

All together awesome meal. Roasted Asparagus, outside grilled is my favorite. If you've never done the Fried Bacon Onion Corn your missing out.

Now tommorow heat up, the majority is left intact as it warms better then shredded I have some Brioche buns and will saute Mushrooms and onions and ladle juice over the top. Thanks for the idea Mike

Noon :pukeright:

It's a great recipe. We shred it and put it on hard rolls! It's great hot or cold. The gravy is to die for! Glad it turned out for you, Tom.
It is easy to make (probably 10 minutes), cooks during the day without checking on it and it is a delicious meal.
Wait till you wrap some bread around it!
It certainly is a nice change of pace for a pot roast!
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?
