Dutch oven

Post by MattM »

Cooking Sunday dinner with the 12 inch Lodge dutch oven today. I am cooking sprite chicken. It's going to be good.

Great food and fun getting there. I taught Dutch Oven cooking w/ the Boy Scouts for years and the best suggestion which I can give is to get a good spiral binder and take copious notes ie; ingredients, ambient temperature, amount of charcoal used and its placement, depth of placement in the soil and any other variables which can influence the final results. I can't think of a better time to get into sour dough baking/cooking in your Dutch Oven and one of my favorites was Sopapillas (Mexican doughnuts) dusted w/ cinnamon sugar for dessert.
