Rapscal, thanks. The second to last photo posted today shows chants peeking through vegetation. The smaller of the leaves closer to the mushrooms are wild grape leaves, our native muscadine grape. The larger, different shaped leaf is American Beautyberry. This photo was taken about 5 miles from the larger live oaks photoed yesterday. They were under the drip line of a smaller live oak. Later in the summer the stems of the Beautyberry will be covered with purple berries. This area is covered with the waist high bush and is something to see in the late summer. Gil

Surprised by the pines nearby and disgusted by the proximity to the road. I have to hoof it and find very few with any pines nearby. Usually tiny goldens there, too.
