From the Atlantic to the Pacific

Post by HunterGKS »

Tonight’s supper was North Atlantic Sea Scallops, Wild Caught Pacific Cod, & more of my fresh asparagus.

Once again, everything came out just right & real tasty.

I love my new grill!!

I’d probably pass on the assparagas and cod. But I’d tear the scallops up. Never ate a cod, well just because.

Ronnie, You don't know what you're missing. The cod is real mild & doesn't have a fishy taste of smell.
With a little drawn butter & lemon juice, it's really good.

As a side note, If you do get a piece of fish & it does have a strong fishy smell, don't eat it. Good fish
should have very little smell.

I’d probably like it. One of my favorite fish on the grill is Wahoo.

Had to google machine it. It appears yippee is some type of noodle. Word of caution, be careful google machining yippee.

I have some nice wild caught pollock fillets that should be pretty tasty as well.

I'm on the look-out for some mahi & swordfish steaks. Maybe even tuna.

Done correctly, grilled fish is the best.

Wahoo is tricky to cook on the grill as it can dry out fast. Dolphin (okay, Mahi) is easier. Good tuna is best seared on a smoking hot pan and eaten sashimi style with less than a .25" seared through on all sides. Last week a buddy gave me about 3 lbs. of blackfin he had caught that day. I gave a pound to Billy and was preparing the rest to sear and slice. The doorbell rang and I left the tuna on the counter. I realized Abby, my oldest Brittany, was still in the kitchen and when I quickly returned, she had one filet on the floor and had eaten half of it. I saved the rest. Abby is a kitchen counter surfing champion. From the title to the thread I expected the Tom Terrific lyrics. Gil

Haven't had any wahoo for a long time. I will be getting some mahi & tuna next time I see it. Counter surfers are the worst.
