Venison
Been doing a Venison dish here and there...
Mongolian Venison
This is one I wanted to try in venison last year and it slipped my mind and I was out before I got a chance... Venison hindquarter sliced really thin flash fried with a light corn starch batter.. I mean take the batteries outta your smoke detectors flash fry... Do in small batches so it doesn't steam and to get a touch of crunch but still tender on inside... The sauce is on the sweeter side... I make a double batch it will have you chasing the last grain of rice covered in the gooey sauce with your fork..
Venison Barley Soup
Alot of nights you could count on this when you got out of the woods with a warm slice of bread... One of moms specialties... Really simple to make and with the Barley it's actually a really filling soup...
Spicy Garlic Venison
It's a good thing I buy soy by the jug... I've been tweaking and testing on fries and pouring this sauce down the drain for a few weeks... Finally tonight it all came together right amount of garlic and heat with just a touch of sweet.. I added more red pepper flakes before I dove in... There's actually another ingredient that adds heat besides the red pepper...
If I were to do for a group and not myself and a pic I would mix the noodles in with the sauce and meat/veggies it's awesome mixed all up...
Could see it being great with chicken or duck..
Now to do old favorites or try other things

I'm sure that all are delicious, but I believe I'd have to be blindfolded and do a taste test on # 1, unless I had a lot of other barley mixtures, ahead of eatin' it k

Thanks guys... Love doing stuff with Venny...
As for the cooking show it would have to be rates TVMA lol. Sometimes I enjoy it and some days I'm like what did I get myself into...
Last year guys on our Michigan board were like we should tell Michigan Out of Doors to have you do a cooking segment... They used to... No way show has a huge following they can get about anyone that wants to advertise their restaurant... Come think of it, they still.may have a segment...
Kinda pod I didn't shoot more... I still got alot I wanna do..

Balsamic Garlic Roasted Bella's
Redskins with Old Bay
Lil chunks all different sizes so u really gotta watch em, so I cooked HOT in small batches...
Fajitas and Red Rice
I've done this red rice a bit.. It's better than our restaurants, it's moist fluffy but not sticky... Actually has a really good flavor, I actually save the leftovers and not discard them

French bread Pizza
Wasn't sure how this would turn out.. It turned out really dang good exceeded my expectations.. Crunchy on the outside a lil chewy yet inside...
For sauce I used the orange stuff in the cup... I bought it at Wal Mart it's a
Chipotle mayo type sauce... I love it on Sammie's to dipping fries, strips, rings, fish, veggies.. Good stuff was.perfect for this... Also used butter mixed with Italian on the bread when I baked the bread first without toppings then on top
last 5 minutes..
Really easy to make I love making french bread pizzas and this was no different, definitely do again..

Re: Venison
Venison Stroganoff
Gotta start using up some venison from my first deer didn't vacuum seal it... Pulled out a bag of steak decided on Stroganoff....
Egg noodles or about any noodle are getting hard to find....
Pounded it thin, sliced across the grain and decided to velvet it... Works great on tougher cuts
I normally am Mr Seasoning but not today.... Turned out good... The meat was extremely tender.... Just it needed something.... I didn't season my Venny enough before flash searing... Unlike me I didn't mince a bunch of garlic to add to my butter... I relied on my better than Boullion, Worcesteshire and a lil garlic powder for seasoning the whole dish...
Like I said turned out good like normal stroganoff but If I'd a been in right mindset coulda made it pop...

Looks good. I like stroganoff but probably prefer a traditional flavor like you made. There are some meals that I don't think need to pop.

Re: Venison
Here is a venison backstrap roast, I started marinating it Friday morning and tonight I wrapped it in bacon(smoked applewood) and will keep marinating until I cook it tomorrow evening for dinner with fresh green beans and either mashed potatoes or scalloped potatoes.
I used olive oil, black pepper, teriyaki, soy sauce, a little garlic and a dash or two of salt for the marinade. I have used that mix on numerous cuts and it never dissapoints.

Re: Venison
I went with homemade scalloped potatoes, and fresh green beans that i will steam. I went with a "gravy" to warm and serve over backstrap once served, garlic, soy, brown sugar and olive oil(extra virgin). I'll add some more more mushroom soup if needed on the scalloped potatoes and I'll add garlic & caramilized butter, grated cheese at end and then put on broiler for a few minutes.I'm going to put the oven on here shortly, and have everything ready for around 6pm for dinner, strawberry cheescake for dessert, with black medium roast coffee for myself. The Showstopper... wrote: ↑March 19th, 2022, 10:28 pm 20220318_163946.jpg20220319_201709.jpgHere is a venison backstrap roast, I started marinating it Friday morning and tonight I wrapped it in bacon(smoked applewood) and will keep marinating until I cook it tomorrow evening for dinner with fresh green beans and either mashed potatoes or scalloped potatoes.20220319_202307.jpg20220319_202328.jpg

Bite size morsels. Great idea. What's the breading, Tom.
Hold the Swiss and substitute mozzarella and I'm in all day long.
The Rueben really sounds good. Heck, they all sound good!
