Maine fishing !

Post by spider316 »

So I have a friend who is 84 years old. He's a Korean war veteran and has a camp in Maine. It's 16 miles off a road that is nothing but logging roads and 4x4 trails that his Father, Brother and he made. His family just can't get him up there as much as he wants. He can drive and get around just fine, but his family doesn't want him alone up there. So with my work schedule I'm absolutely blessed to be able to help them. I've been friends with them for over 40 years. So the smallmouth fishing is a double edged sword, it was a world class Brook Trout/Landlocked Salmon fishery that was decimated by the illegal introduction of Smallmouth bass. It's amazing how good it is. The heat was absolutely brutal, yesterday they set the highest temperature ever recorded. The area is under severe drought conditions, lowest levels the lake has ever been in. Bill Dance ain't got nothing on this kid ! BTW, red squirrels took a beating, when the Tristars would shoot ! :banghead:

Dang, looks almost dry. I bet it is beautiful when its at normal levels. I see why your friend likes it so much. And your friend sure doesn't look 84.

Haha, Smart Ass. He requires the kids to be part of the trip. As he says, that's why the F?cking camp is here. "Let em fish and kill those squirrels".

Awesome fish. I hear that crappie are a big thing up there also. Got to love that summertime fishing.

Tell us more about the Tristar. Maybe another post.
