Turkey What?!?
Did someone say turkey season was in somewhere?
I don't know how long it'll last but it's dumping here right now.

None of that stuff around these parts. Mid- to high 80s with plenty of sunshine. Tourist weather as Florida is known for.

It seems like you guys have been slammed this year. We've been relatively mild but always know that can change quick. Supposed to be upper 40s and sunshine next week, t-shirt and flip flop weather.

Re: Turkey What?!?
I think we ended up with around 4" of snow. I hid in the basement and tried to pretend the weather was nicer. I loaded 10 more 20s in #9s and 11 more 12s in #8.5s, both 1 5/8 oz loads. I still want to work on a load for the muzzleloader because I didn't get around to it last year.
Re: Turkey What?!?
Well. here the trees are all budding out, flowers and shrubs blooming, and it's going to get down to 24 degrees next week. So much for that. I'm reloading Sunday while it rains. We're going to play w/ a 1 5/8 ounce, 20 gauge load of straight 9.5's. It should be an effective load out to 50 yards. I'm loading primarily for a friend who is fairly new to turkey hunting and has just purchased a Affinity 3, which he is setting up for turkeys. I'm pushing him to set it up w/ an even turkey killing 20" at 40 yards as opposed to a dense 10" which is what he wants. Went to my neck surgeon on Thursday, and he is giving me a cautionary "green light" to go to Alabama in two weeks and out west in May with local hunting in between. Life is good!!

Re: Turkey What?!?
Glad to hear you've been given the green light. My set up for both is more the pattern that you describe than a super dense 10" at 40.decoykrvr wrote: ↑March 11th, 2023, 6:52 am Well. here the trees are all budding out, flowers and shrubs blooming, and it's going to get down to 24 degrees next week. 24 degrees will be brutal for you guys at this point. My brother said it was 75 on Monday then sleeting on Wednesday back home. Florida sounds good right now. I was hoping to give that Preston Pittman choke a run this weekend but I think I'll hold off.

We ended up around 6" total so less than some of you guys. I'm sure the mountains got more. It got into mid 20s and sunshine yesterday afternoon so it melted off main roads and consolidated some since it was powder to start.
I broke out the snowblower in hopes the driveway won't turn to 2" of ice when it gets to 40 this week and refreezes at night

Snowed 3 or 4 inches in Helena last night and this morning. I was in Missoula overnight and it snowed a little less there. It's melting like crazy though so it won't be in town here for long.

Re: Turkey What?!?
It’s GREEN around here. Lows in the 30s hi in the 60s. I’m relaxing after roosting a flock yesterday by sound, conversed a bit to know they have a strutter, now everyone’s quiet as I see if he’s gonna fire back up so I can close… I bet he won’t but at least it’s not snowing!
