If it works out, I'll try to make that.
2023 Convention
Re: 2023 Convention
When I lived close to Nashville I went every year but normally only on Fridays. Saturdays were a claustrophobic zoo for me.
Re: 2023 Convention
I will be there all three days. I will say this, get your accommodations done ASAP, this is the 50th anniversary and they are expecting a large amount of people.

I'd go Thursday if they opened up earlier but looks like Friday is my day.

Re: 2023 Convention
I just purchased tickets from Bozeman to Nashville for Friday, 17th but won't land until nearly 2 PM. It'll take a while to get luggage, car, and hotel situated. I don't think I can make any of the convention that day. I'll definitely be there on Saturday and would be up for meeting up with folks Friday evening if there's a Gobblernation get together.
I'd have picked a Thursday flight if available to have all day Friday instead of the mob on Saturday but this was the only option to get a cheap flight. The trip is mostly a visit home anyway. I was just lucky that I could overlap the convention.
I don't recall the ticket/pass structure and cost. How is that set up? Seems like preregistration was the way to go.
Besides the Gaylord, which hotels are a good option close by? I'm assuming they may already be full.

Re: 2023 Convention
I've started staying at the Best Western. It's really nice and very close. I can afford to stay at the Gaylord but it's just hard to justify paying 3x as much as other places. Even with the vendor discounts on the rooms it's still ridiculous.Hobbes wrote: ↑January 10th, 2023, 8:15 pmI just purchased tickets from Bozeman to Nashville for Friday, 17th but won't land until nearly 2 PM. I've changed my mind! I had intended to go Friday but Thursday is sounding better because all the goodies won't be picked over. I don't like to drive at night but I think the crowds will be smaller and it's only 2 and a half hours to home.

Re: 2023 Convention
Back when they said it was going to stay in Nashville, I ask a guy I knew who was working for the federation, why? Don't get me wrong it's just a 4 hour drive for me.
He said it was because half of the United States population lives within a 8 hour drive of Nashville.

Re: 2023 Convention
I’ll be going, we have $50 flights to Nashville now. Beats the heck out of the seven hour drive.
