Great American Outdoor Show

Post by CamoMan4025 »

Does anyone in the PA or surrounding states go to the big outdoor show in Harrisburg, PA? I usually try to go one day. Harrisburg, PA is about 2 hours or so north of me. It's a good time and tons of stuff to look at. My son has never been and his regular day off every week is Wednesday. I may try to take him up there on his day off.

Thinking about going, wonder what would be the best couple of days to go?

Well I would avoid the weekends, but basically it's busy every day. I find if your not in a hurry, just take your time a cruise around. I don't look at things that don't interest me, like fishing and boats, that can save you time. A large part of it too is all the outfitters

It's a good place to see new items and gadgets that you never knew you needed!

During the week is the time to go. It’s a huge show and could take days to really see everything if it all interested you. I’ll be there probably two days during the week sometime.

They'll give you one of those big plastic Toyota bags if they haven't run out of them already.

Back in 96 when we had that series of 1 snow storm after another, I drove my old Toyota 4x4 up there on which the inspection had run out.
Their parking lot was full (mid week) and a police officer who happened to be a good looking young girl, was directing traffic and sending you down the road to park on the shoulder of the road.

After giving me directions she looks at my inspection sticker and says "Hey dude, that expired in 5-95", she sounded just like a Calf. surfer girl.
I said "oh, thanks" and I took off down the road, I went farther down than what she had said, parked and threw a mess of snow over the sticker and across the windshield and hood, like a snow plow had come by.

Place was shoulder to shoulder packed with people, I should of knew better when seeing the parking lot was full and turned around and left.
My truck was still there when I came out and no ticket on it. Still get a laugh when I think of it and her surfer girl voice

PS., if the statute of limitations hasn't run out yet from 1996, the whole above story is internet horse patoot and here say.
