Which barrel length.
Which barrel length.
Come across a smoking deal on a Benelli Vinci the end of the barrel by the choke is messed up non repairable. So im going to have it cut down and rethreaded for chokes will be turkey only gun. Cant decide between 22” and 20”. What do you guys think.

Re: Which barrel length.
That's a tough one, but keep in mind your choke will add 2" or so. I'd probably go with the 22".

If I knew how it was going to shoot and I was going to just really fall in love with it I would go 20”. But I’m thinking 22” in case I decide I want to use it for anything else or for resale later on most would want that extra 2”. The reason 22” is that’s the next rib under the bad spot. The guy I got it from had it in his Argo and slipped and the track was rubbing it and damn near rubbed a hole in it. But didn’t bend the barrel or break the rib. It was a steal in my eyes at 450$

22 " and send it down to Sumtoy chokes and get them to cut it off, thread it and choke it. You will not be disappointed. Ask for William they are in Jessup, GA

It’s more than likely going to be tru choke. These barrels are super thin. I’m shooting for something more common but material thickness will be the deciding factor.

Re: Which barrel length.
I would not do truchoke
Whoever does your barrel I would tell them to go as far as they can and keep it winchoke
Re: Which barrel length.
22” is as long as I can go due to the bad spot in the barrel. I’m hoping for rem or winchoke. What’s the problem with standard tru choke? It’s unusable as is so the tru choke has to be better than nothing. I would prefer something more common. I’m sending it to sumtoy next week.

Availability of chokes. Winchoke would be best.
Remchoke I think won’t work at all
