Nothing to write home about but took down an old toad today. I passed on him a few times. He has been shrinking for a while. He looks like he has barnacles on his main beams he is so old. 10 point, main frame 8, with double brows. I had him at 30 for about an hour. I wasn't going to shoot because I was hoping he would walk to my Dad. Well he didn't, turned to me at about 10 yards. Mathews Vertix killed him, he was chasing a doe. Is all scarred up from fighting. Had a broke off bloody tine

I heard some crows calling at daybreak and a tom gobbled like hell right above me. Scared the bejeezus out of me...wasn't expecting that this time of year!

On our farm I found strutters & hens spread out in a hundred yard area. Out late archery opens Saturday.

Thats like taking a dog with you for company when your driving, usually sleeping before you can make 2 left turns and the first stop sign.

Notched my last tag Tonight, Tommorow last night... Balmy out, my two bfs sat together about a mile away... We decided we'd wait til a night we all could kill. I'm setting watching the Bama game, , boom, text, we doubled, your turn 20 minutes later.. Doe, turn down game, bang...
They come... I throw boogs on trail knew she didn't go far, lil 80 gBarnes are pure death, but it was thick, so you can't see far... She ain't done it in like five years, weird she remembered after an easy 60 yard trail she was standing over her...
Seasons been really bittersweet for me with everything going on...
Buddies, hop in, nah we'll walk... Walk was surreal, calm, 32, fresh snow, quiet so much on my mind.. What 2022 holds, who knows, told my buddy in November probably be my last deer... But the Lord shined down this season and I can go on knowing I accomplished what I set out to accomplish first on Nov 16 and tonight was icing on the cake...
As for the hoodie, I knew I'd kill tonight... Our Michigan board no politics, so I figured it was my way to skirt the system lol

Seasons over here in Ga .... Took it easy and didn't hunt past Thanksgiving . Did a tripple on 11/24 all inside 200 yds . killed a double early season on a deacent 8pt and doe .
Actually killed 9 and was guide on 3 more . It was a good year saw more deer this year than ever before and I lived and hunted alot of these pkaces in the 1990's when we had an estimated 1 million deer in Ga .
My Farmer neighbor ask me to shoot them all , but we get 12 tags a year and I just ain't got the drive to drag them that I had when I was in my 30 's and 40's .
Alot more watching these days. And I could have easily given away as many as I killed . Family and co workers always say . kinda keep it on a short list these days ....
