Billie, Bot I but, do you already have 1 or in the market? If in the market, you may want to check out the Gamo.
I have seen demos & read up on them & they are a great gun with some being able to take down hogs fairly
quietly.

FWIW.

I've had a Gamo Hunter for 20 years. Deadly accurate and has killed everything from gophers to raccoons and everything in between. Outstanding .177 pellet gun.
HORRIBLE trigger pull but I got used to it!
It's adjustable but it goes from bad to worse!
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

I don’t have one yet . Need something very quiet so the neighbors don’t upset . Looking to protect the garden from ground hogs .Budget is less than 300 . Hatsan is available at Wings in 177,22 and .25 cal. I assume the .25 is considerably slower .

Have never shot a Hatsan. Shot a Gamo once. It had the worst trigger I have ever pulled. Had no desire to own one after that. I have a Beeman R7. Super accurate. Great trigger. Have killed lots of black birds and a fair number of squirrels with it. Head shots only for the squirrels. It doesn't have the horsepower for larger quarry.

Bought my son the Gamo Varmint for Christmas in 2019 and I don't care for it. Have tried an assortment of different pellets and can find anything that will group worth talking about. I didn't do my research thoroughly prior to purchasing it or I'd have not gone with a springer. I'm used to my CZ 22 lr's shooting one hole groups so maybe my expectations were too high.

I’ve got a gamo whisper fusion pro and it’s no where near as loud as a .22. Really don’t know what you folks talking bout when yo say loud as a .22. But anyway.
I’ve killed squirrels at a measured distance of 75 yards. But I’ve also shot at birds at 10 yards and missed. Lol
