Is the Blackstone all it’s supposed to be
I’m looking to get a new grill and of course was thinking about the blackstone.
Is it really worth the money or is some of the other makes a better buy for the money?

I bought a 17 a few years ago. I love it. I cook something on it most everyday day. They are very well made.
I don't know how other brands compare but I have no regrets and no complaints

All mine are approx. 4 years old. My buddy just bought the latest version. Holy crap are they nice, alot nicer with all the latest upgrades. You won't regret it at all. Just absolutely make sure you season the grill as instructed, every square inch of it ! I used Crisco baking grease on mine, you literally can't season it to much !

I’ve been looking for a grill as well. I hear you absolutely have to keep the blackstone cooking surface seasoned.
I’m leaning towards a pellet grill I believe.

I have the smaller one with the fryer. I wish it would maintain heat better. If load it up, it struggles to keep up. I've used the fryer once with turkey nuggets but it had a difficult time keeping the oil at the temp that I wanted. I've played with the regulator and thought that I'd made improvements but if it did, it didn't last.
I bought the smaller one thinking I'd take it camping but it's too heavy to lug around much. The model I have requires the tank and not a bottle. I still like it but would recommend one of the bigger ones on a stand if planning to do any serious cooking.

Mine are both Model # 1554. Just the plain griddle. They are pretty fancy now with all the options available.hookedspur wrote: ↑July 4th, 2021, 7:07 pmWhat model do you recommend?spider316 wrote: ↑July 4th, 2021, 1:46 pm All mine are approx. 4 years old. One of the downfalls of the BS is putting a good sear on steak.. The BS doesn't really get hot enough.. It's essentially a cast iron pan without the nuclear ability..
I was a huge fan of the A1 steak seasoning, it was very fine, it's my experience that the fine seasonings adhere better to and stay with the steak and the flavor imparts better.. It was discontinued I believe.. Here is something I use, it's really good, doesn't overpower the meat but does add flavor..
With the brown sugar it will most likely change a Blackstone steak to something more appealing.. Works awesome on the grill too..
I know the old adage "a good steak only needs salt and pepper" true but theirs nothing wrong with adding a lil flavor..
Alot of times I'll give a steak a brushing of werchoschure sauce when coming to room temp then rub in a Seasoning.
2 tablespoons kosher salt
2 teaspoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
½ teaspoon paprika
½ teaspoon chili powder
¼ teaspoon garlic powder
¼ teaspoon garlic salt
¼ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric
I use smoked paprika and sometimes add a lil Cayenne ramp up the heat..

I bought the small griddle for breakfasts and burgers while camping. No complaints.
