Tough Texas Weather

Post by soiltester »

Hunted San Angelo and hunted Mon. p.m., all day Tue and Wed. a.m.
Beautiful Monday afternoon and scratched a silent one that came in.
A cold snap set in with a cold wind, mist to rainy mist, and basically it was a cold and damp/wet mess :banghead:
Toms were henned up and silent, and for the most part, unless it warmed, then some would gobble and sometimes the sun even came out, but not much.
With the total group, the Toms came in silent with and without hens leading and alone, a couple came to call and hung up.
Of course, we won't go in "the human error factor" that really took it's toll on this hunt.
I managed a couple of 2 yr old's, but no braggin' rights or limb hangers

Of course no hunt is complete unless "the cows come home"

And of course, "have call will travel" :salute:

May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

At least you had cool temps. I was out there two weeks ago, first afternoon was 99. I eeked out a bird then, my son got one the next afternoon. My biggest hurdle was sheep running under roosted birds and milling about, and an atv blocked another
