We had a reported harvest in AL last year that was up over 50% from 2019. It sure doesn't appear to me that it had negative effect on reproduction. In fact, I believe it was the best hatch of my life, and I'm pretty old. I have places to hunt in 3 different places scattered over the state and they all have big flocks of young turkeys. Lots of other folks are seeing the same thing.

I don't really have an explanation for why we had such a great hatch, but I like it. I do suspect that the big packs of jakes we are gonna have this spring could make hunting tough at times, but I can live with that problem.

Yup, social media and YouTube are having a huge impact as well. This spring will be as busy, if not busier, than last spring. If things don't settle down in a few years, look for reduced opportunities for turkey hunting in some states through means of quota only hunts, season restrictions, possibly lower bag limits or even non-resident specific restrictions.
