Camoman Prostaffer and client !
Camoman Prostaffer and client !
Got off duty at 11PM, slept 2 hours and woke up my son. Headed to NY and we were set up by 0445 listening to the coyotes. Jake brake on a milk truck goes off and a bird gobbles close, "Dad, he's real close", "yea, don't breathe", Dad, I gotta breathe" ! Mother Nature starts to wake up and birds are chirping, Turkeys are gobbling, hens are tree calling, sky is getting light, Moon is setting, why are we Blessed ! So Gobblers fly down below us, hens are still up in the trees, coyotes are a nuisance on this property and the hens know stay up until the sunrise is full. Well the hens start to fly down and get going with some assembly calls and "we" start calling back and the challenge is on, this old Nag hen goes on a rant and her she comes. Well 9 hens later, they all go by and there's no Toms following, there all still strutting and chasing each other around. Well 20 minutes later hens are gone, it's quiet, and all of a sudden we hear a bird Spitting n Drumming coming up the rise of the ridge. Well he sees the breeding Jake setup, and puts on a show that words can't describe. He struts right up to them and gives it a look, he looks at the Jake decoy and is like "you realize she's fake and that's frost on her back, not glitter, good luck". Well at 20 yds the 20 gauge T/C Prohunter with #6 heavyweights ruined his morning. At that moment my son says "Dad, don't move" and grabs my arm. There's another Tom strutting up over the rise, like nothing ever happened and he's on a mission. I tell my son it's his turn and I see "Iron Ass" stealthily raising his gun and the next thing I hear is the click of the safety and "Dad, block your ears". BOOM ! I look over and all I see is a tail doing a death quiver. Well his Remington 1187 shooting Longbeard #6 XRs delivered the goods. 0604 and its over, stick a fork in us ! An absolute incredible morning, still seems like a dream, one I didn't have last night.

Haha, on the drive out he says "Dad, your up first" ! Well thanks Buddy, considering you done shot 2 good ones and I'm at one. He's a great kid, and is absolutely insane about and infatuated with Turkey hunting. Again thanks to everyone !
Considering the Prostaff he's on, he's used to it, just saying !
