Backyard Ladies.

Post by Hognutz »

Had a few visitors this morning. I counted 20 of them. There were a few more in the field. The little ones have gotten big in a hurry! All ladies!

Click on the bottom pic and it should right itself. Or maybe not! :dontknow:
May I assume you're not here to inquire about the alcohol or the tobacco?

Love the turkeys but what are you a landscaper. Hell any big golf courses hire you as head grounds keeper

Nice. Unless all your gobblers are gay you should be in good shape come spring.

Thanks, Tom! I try to keep the yard nice and plush. With all the stinkin rain we got this year, it was an easy job!
I have an 86 year old uncle from the U.P. Up there, you cut MAYBE 10 times a summer and it’s a chore not much liked! He was down for for a weekend for a family party. He comes over and whispers in my ear, “I found a dandelion over there behind the shed”!! Too funny!

Ronnie. I generally hunt, when I hunt, by family 250 miles north.
Stinkin’ Wi. is divided into 7 zones and you must hunt the zone you apply for and draw.
It’s neat to be able to see something like this out your kitchen window, every now and then.. I don’t feed them, but the alfalfa field takes care of that.

I see deer every day out my window, but never see turkeys. I hear them in the spring but don't see them. I'd rather see the turkeys, my Wife would rather see the deer. :argue: :D

Some of the girls were back this morning. Got a pic of one with a beard. Looks like it’s a wispy 6”er. Not a great picture but I think it work.

That's as long of beards on hens that I've ever have seen on the 2 hens I got in SC, way back when, and what I have seen since, here and in MI.
In Mexico a Gould's hen had a wispy one that was about that length last year also.

I've heard longer hen beards in different areas but don't believe I've ever seen any pics to support it ;)
ever wonder where the white goes when the snow melts??
