I've been fortunate to not eat turkey tag soup in a while ( I tried in 2012 but shot a tom out from under my son), but I've gotten good at eating elk tag soup.
Raspy there are seasons still open. Plan a quick trip. Refuse the tag soup.
KS and NE both come to mind, unless your concerned with being accused of killing dumb unworthy Turkey's that are far less intelligent than the superior birds found in other parts of the US.

Re: Just thought I'd share
I eat tag soup here a lot of years .. but then that's why I head to other states .. for REVENGE
ever wonder where the white goes when the snow melts??
Re: Just thought I'd share
Nope that's not a concern I love hunting rios and merriams. Wish I could more often. I killed my slam and I really don't go to different states after that. I just stay here in my home state. Only get to hunt weekends. I had a place in TN but don't have it anymore.hobbes wrote:I've been fortunate to not eat turkey tag soup in a while ( I tried in 2012 but shot a tom out from under my son), but I've gotten good at eating elk tag soup.

Re: Just thought I'd share
I've never tasted this Tag Soup that y'all speak of. From the sound of it, I don't want to either.

I didn't get one in Florida this year. I did get one in Nebraska but that doesn't count now that I read the easy state thread. I'm ashamed of the kill.
Re: Just thought I'd share
Raspy I hate to you ended up with that bitter soup. Im sure you will get your revenge when October rolls around.

That's why it's fun. Disappointment makes success even more fun.

I'm the type that's gonna think about this till I redeem myself. Turkey huntin is what I really enjoy to do. I love it. This season stumped me for some reason and I can't quite put my finger on it. I do know that I never heard or seen a gobbler on 2 of the 3 farms I hunt on. These farms usually have 6 to 12 gobblers every year.
