Legend 1oz 410

Post by Hoobilly »

FoxTrot 410 Legend 9.5x10 through a very dirty barrel at 35 yards. Couldn’t find my bore snake and this is about the 8th shot. Choke is Indiancreek 385
Had to rush sight in for this load for my daughter to use. After season I’ll take the time to pattern at 40 with all 3 chokes in this overunder. 380 385 390

Looking good. My 9 year old missed a turkey at 40 yards with his 410 yesterday. My load only has 370, it would have been nice to have a little larger load. Who has the data for the Legend 1oz load?

I’ve not given it out. Some have made it on their own

I've been playing around with a 1oz 410 load and with a TPS, the most I can fit is 410gr of TSS #9.25s in a cheddite 3" hull. Are you guys using a different hull, wad, or are you fitting closer to 1oz with smaller TSS like #10?

Sorry I’m in Nebraska turkey hunting. Different wad. Hopefully not disconnected as the manufacturer was bought out.

The tps wad you can do 400ish like you sated. But the 383 Stroker (7/8oz) shot so good I didn’t fool with the 400gn load

I like it. I can't really think of a downside (except maybe a few dollars) for me not to use the Legend.

Was wondering if had a chance to do the follow up test. Would really to see the patterns from those three

I’ve got a old Sears Roebuck .410 that I may try this load in. Upcoming project. If it patterns good then I’m painting it.

A Sears bolt .410 was my first shotgun that was all mine and not borrowed,

it was mine for all of a year and then went to my younger brother, I was graduated to a single shot 12. That thing would kick the stew out of a young feller, they believed in tough love back then.

supposed to get the .410 back this summer after 50 some years

That's not too much slower. What's the lethal distance on a turkey with #10 TSS at 1000 FPS anyway?

Some claim 52 yards. I’ve no real idea personally. Have only shot them close with the 410
